IT & AI Specialist
Role Purpose
The AI Automation & Innovation Lead will be responsible for establishing and scaling Sammut Group’s internal AI capability. This role will work across all areas of the business, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, decision-making and operational performance through the deployment of AI-powered tools, automations and agents.
Initially focused on gaining a deep understanding of Sammut Group’s operations, the role will immerse itself across Development, Project Management, Marketing, Legal and Finance functions to identify pain points, inefficiencies and opportunities for transformation. The successful candidate will then lead the design, development and implementation of practical AI solutions that become embedded within day-to-day business operations.
This role represents a unique opportunity to build an AI function from the ground up and play a central role in shaping how Sammut Group operates into the future.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Discovery & Process Analysis
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of workflows, systems and processes across all business units.
- Engage with stakeholders across Development, Project Management, Marketing, Legal and Finance to identify operational challenges and inefficiencies.
- Map existing processes and evaluate opportunities for AI-driven automation and optimisation.
- Establish a pipeline of initiatives that deliver measurable business value.
2. AI Solution Design & Development
- Design, build and deploy AI-powered workflows, agents and automation solutions tailored to business requirements.
- Develop tools that streamline repetitive tasks, improve information accessibility and enhance decision-making.
- Build solutions including automated reporting, document processing, communication workflows, knowledge management systems and operational assistants.
- Continuously test, refine and improve solutions based on user feedback and business outcomes.
3. Platform & Infrastructure Management
- Establish and manage the infrastructure required to support Sammut Group’s AI ecosystem.
- Deploy, monitor and maintain AI solutions in production environments.
- Manage integrations between AI platforms, business systems and third-party applications.
- Ensure reliability, scalability and security across all deployed solutions.
4. AI Strategy & Innovation
- Contribute to the development and execution of Sammut Group’s long-term AI strategy.
- Identify emerging technologies, platforms and opportunities that can create competitive advantage.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, frameworks and methodologies.
- Support the expansion of AI capabilities across future business ventures and initiatives.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Act as the internal AI champion and trusted advisor across the business.
- Present ideas, recommendations and project outcomes to senior leadership.
- Provide training and guidance to teams adopting AI-powered tools and workflows.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement.
6. Governance, Security & Risk
- Ensure AI solutions are implemented responsibly and securely.
- Develop governance frameworks, standards and best practices for AI adoption.
- Monitor risks relating to privacy, security, compliance and data management.
- Promote responsible use of AI technologies across the organisation.
Skills & Experience Required
Mandatory
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI-powered solutions, agents and workflow automations.
- Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs), AI tooling, prompt engineering and agentic systems.
- Experience taking AI solutions from concept through to production deployment.
- Knowledge of automation platforms, workflow orchestration tools and low-code solutions such as Relay or similar platforms.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, APIs, integrations and system architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from inception to delivery.
Highly Desirable
- Experience deploying AI solutions within a commercial or operational business environment.
- Experience building multi-agent systems and enterprise automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of AI security, governance and responsible deployment practices.
- Experience working with property, construction, real estate or related industries.
- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
