A MELBOURNE family has splashed $8.775 million on a luxury apartment in an off-the-plan deal on the Gold Coast.

Marketing agent Tolemy Stevens, of Harcourts Coastal, confirmed the sale in ‘Coast’, a $200 million tower set to rise on the beachfront in Surfers Paradise.

An interstate family has paid $8.775 million for a residence in the “Coast” development at 43 Garfield Terrace, Surfers Paradise.

“An astute family from Melbourne are going to use it as a private holiday home,” Mr Stevens said.

“They are looking forward to spending more time on the Gold Coast enjoying the sun, sand, surf and the amazing lifestyle on offer.”

The whole floor apartment on the 30th level will have four bedrooms, a study, butler’s pantry and a wine cellar.

“We were experiencing outstanding sales and uptake prior to approval however the last two weeks after the development approval was given, we have received a phenomenal run of sales and now we only have 15 residences left,” Mr Stevens said.

“We’ve had a fantastic spread of buyers from the Coast, Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne.

Mr Stevens reported $153 million worth of sales since the project launched.

The tower, to be built at 43 Garfield Terrace, will have 49 units with prices ranging from $3.5 million to $9 million.

Construction of Sydney-based Sammut Group’s 35-storey high-rise will begin in early 2022.
